Properties: Colorless and odorless crystals, can be weathered in air. Soluble in water and ether, slightly soluble in ethanol. The melting point of sodium acetate trihydrate is 58°C, relative density 1.45, auto-ignition point 607.2°C. Loses 3 molecules of water at 123°C. The melting point of anhydrous sodium acetate is 324°C, relative density 1.528.

Uses: Used as an esterifying agent in organic synthesis and in many areas such as photographic chemicals, pharmaceuticals, dyeing mordants, buffers, chemical reagents, meat preservation, pigments, tanning, etc. Can be used to produce various chemical products, such as furan acrylic acid, acetate esters, and chloroacetic acid.
